New Section: Small Business Book Reviews

Jan 28th, 2009 | By Patrysha | Category: Books

If there’s one thing those who know me can say about me, it’s that I’m a reader. Thanks to a speed reading gene that I’m sure was passed on through my maternal grandfather (and I’ve since passed on to at least my oldest son), I can read a large quantity of material in a short amount of time.  The last time I kept track and measured the pace, I was at around 125 pages an hour on average. In a typical week, that translates into between 8 and 10 books.

While the vast majority of my offline reading is fiction, I do read quite a wide range of general business and marketing books.

Most of the books I read come from the library, but occassionaly I’ll find one that gets added to my personal collection. These tend to be books that I’ll go to for research and inspiration, books that I know I’ll read over and over again.

These are the books that I’ll be featuring in the new book review category, along with some that I’ve read that haven’t made it into my personal collection but that are worthy of checking out nonetheless.

I will be linking them directly to Amazon Canada, but they will no doubt be found in your local bookstore (we don’t happen to have one in Whitecourt beyond the small selections at Walmart and Rexall Drugs) or your local library.

(Edited to add:  When in Whitecourt you can find a solid selection of classic children’s books and a few young adult novels at TiddleeWinx at Midtown Mall as well as a limited collection of Christian books at the flower store in the mall)
