Speaker Bio:
Tamara Plant – Founder and Publisher of MOM Magazine
Tamara Plant has been in the communications and publishing industry since 1990. After studying journalism at Mount Royal Coolege in Calgary, she went on to a successful career as a sports writer for several publications including The Edmonton Journal, sports Scene Publications and The Kelowna Daily Courier.

She expanded her knowledge of the industry by working pre-press, graphic,

Publishing. In 2004, Tamara started her own communications company helping
small businesses brand themselves with logos, websites and marketing materials. In 2007, she branched out into publishing, founding the fun, edgy and sometimes controversial MOM Magazine. MOM captured the attention of women who got the concept of “Life as a MOM doesn’t mean life as a WOMAN has to end!” The magazine has received accolades from the Spruce Grove & District Chamber of Commerce as 2007 New Business of the Year and 2008 Marketer of the Year.

Over the past two years, she has launched her own website which averages 10,000 hits a week, utilized Facebook and Twitter to expand her global footprint, started a women’s networking group called FIERCE (Females Inspiring Each other in a Real Community of Empowerment), is starting her third year as a director on the Spruce Grove & District Chamber of Commerce, has been the keynote speaker at International Women’s Day

Patrysha Korchinski,

Speaker, Author & Marketing Consultant

The creative energy and competitive spirit were evident early in this writer’s life, with her first award win through a local library’s short story competition at the age of 8. Though she landed far from her life goal at the time (to be the first woman color commentator for NHL hockey) the wins have continued in other areas of communication including work on web development projects, video production teams and trade fair co-operatives. Her most recent boast is publicity seeking is the name drop in November’s issue of Chatelaine Magazine.
Patrysha has been a small business owner for over 12 years and a dedicated marketer for nearly 10. Her efforts for clients through straight marketing and copy to publicity seeking have achieved measurable results and she loves sharing that knowledge through speaking engagements and information marketing including books, videos,  audio and one-on-one consultations.
Patrysha’s interactive style allows attendees to walk off with specific things they can apply to their business to achieve results. She breaks down “geek and tech” into terms that business owners can relate to making technology understandable and more importantly use-able in real world retail and service situations.
She brings together traditional methods like publicity seeking and adds a modern edge with online marketing skills for a robust marketing repertoire that can find solutions for nearly every business.
