Marketing Communication Needs Integrated Approach
Jul 19th, 2008 | By Patrysha | Category: MarketingBrody Dorland wrote a very insightful article on the impression a poorly presented website can have on sales…even when other sales elements might be very effective.
The article is based on a recent experience Dorland had with a printing company that was trying to get his business. He followed a link on a business card after a sales presentation by the company. As business owners this course of action is one we should hope for and encourage our prospects to take. It’s a step towards completing the sale.
Unfortunately, In this case the website was a disappointment that failed to live up to the expectations created by an excellent presentation.
The company lost at least one sale (and potentially is losing many more) because they haven’t integrated their marketing strategy and provided a consistent image over the many platforms they use to market and sell to their clients.
If you’ve got an excellent product or service, you should have an equally excellent website to support it.
Though Dorland’s advice to find a professional web designer is solid, small business owners with limited budgets might be tempted to ignore it. After all, good design must cost a lot of money, right?
Actually no, good web design that meets your marketing goals and makes a good impression is no longer limited to those with big budgets. If you’re a frugal marketer, by choice or by necessity, there are several options that can keep your investment down and your response level up.
