Whining for Support Doesn’t Attract Customers
Dec 7th, 2009 | By Patrysha | Category: MarketingI received an IM as I logged on this morning from a home business owner I met in a chatroom less than a week ago. Reading it annoyed me, and altered my perceptions of this person and her business. I’m sure that is not the reaction she was hoping for.
One thing to remember in this online world is even though you may be connected to a person who has given you contact information that does not give you permission to expect anything from them. They have granted contact, not friendship – that comes after you’ve developed value and established a relationship and even then you do not have the right to demand support for your products or services.
It just doesn’t work that way.
No matter how stressed and frustrated you are sending out a message that complains about lack of support for your business to your customers (or potential) customers is not the way to gain business.
That should be common knowledge, but evidently it is not.
If you’re not getting the support and sales you need…vent to a mastermind group or your network of business support – not your potential market.
Your customers don’t need to know why you need them to buy. Quite frankly they don’t care and have enough on their own plates without hearing about your problems. Tell them how your product or service can help them deal with their challenges and problems, not what they can do to help you solve yours.
Whining is not a marketing strategy.
It only leads to pity sales.
And pity sales have a high emotional cost because no one feels good about it.
Sales that don’t feel good don’t get repeated.
Be aware of the message you are sending. Keep your needs of it and focus on the customer.

If you want good result in your business by adding more customers than forget about about Whining because,Whining doesn’t attract customers at all.lol oops when i saw “whine” thread for some reason i thought it was a thread on support for … this aws not a marketing strategy at all!
Whining is a negative marketing strategy,so always apply some rules or tips to attract customers towards your blog/business.
Whining is not a strategy at all! It is not appealing in children and it certainly has no place in business.
Nope, I would not ever write a post in support of whining. The post was inspired by a Yahoo Instant Message where a direct sales representative complaining that she supported others in their business and they weren’t supporting her. I understand the sentiment and the emotion – business can be hard when you aren’t meeting your goals! – but you can’t operate by relying on your expectations of others. If people aren’t buying, it’s because you’ve mismanaged the target or your message. As Jeffrey Gitomer says, “People love to buy, they hate being sold to’”

Its so true. Usually a relationship has to be established first
