Publicity

Last week, or maybe it was the week before, I answered a query in the HARO, from The Toilet Paper Entrepeneur.  They were looking for quick marketing tips focused on small business, do I immediately jumped at the chance to share my thoughts.

I’ve been away from the computer and out in my local community much more this week. That was a bit unanticipated, but the speaking engagement I had scheduled for this past Monday has been postponed, so that added 16 hours to my schedule (the driving time there and back).

A friend of mine, reading yesterday’s tips on finding a local web designer/marketer asked me why I was giving tips on finding services similar to mine locally.

Just got home from a very positive and mostly uplifting Whitecourt Chamber of Commerce meeting. It was the most well attended meeting in years due to discussions about a bypass being proposed sometime in the distant future for our town which will affect business. Not the nicest topic, but one that we as business owners have to get involved with and voice our opinions about to the powers that be.  I’ll post other notes on my thoughts later.

I woke up this morning to discover my client Pre-Wrap.com has gotten some killer media coverage in their local paper. We knew it was coming, of course, since the photo shoot took over an hour (good thing the girls’ dad is a photographer and they’re used to hanging out in a studio), but you can never really count on publicity until it hits the streets.
