Today was the final day to register for the early bird pricing for the Northern Alberta Super Sales Seminar. Sadly, there are not enough registrants to warrant the seminar at this time. I am nothing if not practical and I’ve obviously misjudged the desire for the event at this time.
Sometimes that happens with marketing and promotions and even with product. Sometimes even the seasoned professional can misjudge the potential of an idea or misread their target market. That’s where a thick skin and the ability to move forward can come in handy for a business owner. It’s not that you can expect never to fail, no matter how much experience you have, but that you keep moving forward towards the winning answer.
I’m sure I’ll find it here locally as I have online.
Which isn’t to say that this doesn’t just about break my heart (well not literally, I have other ideas already cooking!) because this was wicked good information that could have seriously put attendees over the top in terms of sales increases in the coming months. Lara’s session alone has been proven to perform.
Which just goes to show that market research needs to be a continual part of any business. Instead of assuming that businesses would love to learn how to increase their business revenue, I should have asked.
Maybe the timing was off, with summer around the corner. Perhaps people just don’t know me well enough yet to trust that the information would be top-notch and on target.
Perhaps I should have invested more in marketing.
I admit, I got sidetracked by the sales and projects that were coming in and I didn’t market the seminar as heavily as I had originally intended.
But enough of that! I’ve got a book to finish ghostwriting and three press releases and a sales page to write.
And I have to get started on the release of Whitecourt Marketplace on a wider scale.
Call me if you’re a business owner or a non-profit group in the Whitecourt area if you haven’t already gotten the brochure/intro package. It does look like I’m going to have to push the launch back into September - but I’m pretty sure we can pull together and make it happen!

While some marketing matters can be put off, there are times when you need immediate assistance and don't want to wade through tons of information to find what you need.
